The need for a Bible Institute for this area had been recognized for some time, but in 2005 after much prayer, the initial steps were taken to establish a Bible Institute.

As dialogue proceeded and progressed between the West Somerset Baptist Church and the Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church, it was agreed to chart the course to offer a strong and conservative Bible education to the south central Kentucky area.

With space available on the property of Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church, it was decided by both churches to construct a new building. 

Ground was broken on the property on May 13th, 2006. With the help of God and the willing hands of many of His people, the new 5,000 square foot building was completed. Classes were held in the new facility on August 28th, 2006.   

Cumberland Baptist Institute is honored to be able to make a Bible education a reality for those in this area. This would not be possible if it were not for the pastors of this area who serve on this faculty as well as the churches who have made us a part their monthly mission support. For this we say "Thank You!" 

It is the prayer of all involved in CBI that we might always remain true to the Great Commission given by the Lord to His churches.
